The New Neighborhood Hero: Public Defenders as Community Champions

Firefighters, doctors, astronauts...public defenders? While many public service professions hold a special place in the imaginations of young people, public defense is rarely front and center. But we should be! As community champions, defenders are poised to take up more space in the public conversation---but not if we don't have our stories told. In this fireside chat, public defender, Partners for Justice co-founder, and author Emily Galvin Almanza has written a new middle-grade novel, Andromeda Diaz and the Reasonable Doubt, which aims to bring public defense principles to the next generation through a twisty mystery.
